La Torretta Del Lago Resort & Spa
The Mardi Gras celebration first arrived in North America with the LeMoyne brothers, Iberville and Bienville, in the late 17th century, when King Louis XIV sent them to defend France's claim on the territory of Louisiana on March 3, 1699. They made camp just south of New Orleans, named the spot Point du Mardi Gras and engaged in a spontaneous party that is often referred to as North America's first Mardi Gras. Today this tradition continues to be one of the most fun, colorful, and festive celebrations; and a wonderful way to raise money for the Montgomery County Performing Arts Society.
Mark your calendars now because you and your friends most surely will want to attend “Montgomery County’s Fundraising Event of the Year!” at Del Lago’s newly remodeled resort. Please come back often and visit our website to find out all of the exciting details that our Planning Committee members are working on. Volunteers are needed, so call our office if you want to join in the fun!
