EDUCATION VISION STATEMENT

Central to MCPAS’ mission are education and community outreach programs that encourage young and not so young to more fully appreciate and participate in the performing arts. Through the years, studies have discovered that the inclusion of the performing arts in a broad-based curriculum improves the quality of a child’s educational experience. The arts teach discipline, improve self-esteem, and inspire creativity.

Knowledge of the arts makes good teachers better and makes participating schools exciting. MCPAS is also committed to offering scholarship aid to area students pursuing higher education in the performing arts.

“Performing arts create a portal to dreams and imagination, and our youth must experience professional cultural events first-hand to experience the joy that comes from hearing a great piece of music played, watching the beauty of a dance, or witnessing the live story-telling of a great play. This is a great tradition that we must continue to experience as adults and pass on to our children and grandchildren.”
